I think I’m almost done with my Christmas shopping, and I’m just about finished decorating. This is a first for me—I’m never ready this early! Of course, I’m sure there’s something I’ve forgotten, and there will be a last-minute scramble, but honestly, it wouldn’t feel like the holidays without it, right? Over on the blog, I’ve been sharing a lot of new recipes, but next week I’m hoping to focus on some holiday decor projects. I’ve been having so much fun getting creative! I made some whimsical doves from old paper plates I’d used as palettes, turned clothespins into snowflakes, and crafted a few other goodies. I didn’t change much of my decor this year. My family room’s nostalgic-inspired Christmas tree stayed mostly the same, and I made just a few tweaks to my living room tree. More and more, I’m finding comfort in revisiting my favorite pieces from years past and making small updates. For example, my staircase banister garland got a refresh this year with some inexpensive paper honeycomb balls and my DIY vintage bobbin garland—and I LOVE how it turned out! (You can check it out here.) This is the time of year when I wish for a pause button. There’s just so much I want to do, make, paint, bake, create, visit, and enjoy. Like, can I hop on a plane, experience a magical English Christmas, and fly back as if no time has passed? Or spend a weekend painting snow and Christmas lights, but also still have time to bake cookies and wrap presents? And with that, lets' take a look at what you may have missed on the blog this week:
